Shading of Bézier Patches

There are well known shading algorithms (Gouraud, Phong) for the surfaces shading. The problem is that such algorithms just approximate the real shading. Precise shading algorithms require the values of normal vectors at all points of rendered surface. Computation of normal vector for Cartesian and triangular parametric surfaces is presented in the paper.
Bézier Form of S-Patches

In this paper the main properties for the biquadratic case of S-patches are described. Bézier form of patches is used. It gives us the possibility to find the correlation between triangular and quadrilateral patches. Condition for smooth concatenation of biquadratic BS-patches is formulated.

Mutual conversions between triangular and quadrilateral meshes need the same degree of both diagonal and boundary curves of quadrilateral meshes. New approach to quadrilateral patches, S-Patches, offers such possibility. The Bézier approach of Smart patches (S-Patch) in the biquadratic case is analyzed. Dependencies among the control points are derived. BS-Patches are presented. Close relation between Bézier triangles and BSPatches is found. Condition for smooth concatenation of biquadratic BS-Patches is formulated.
